Just an opinion

I'm not really sure you can slap on a questionable camouflage paint job and call an oil pump a "sculpture" or "art." But I'm no expert.

Like my old man always says, "it's all just dumb deer." All art is in the eye of the beholder. One day we were driving through IN and I noticed that lots of people had those decorative deer in their giant yards. Not the kind you shoot at for practice, but the kind you put up for decoration - art. I said they were dumb. He said, all art is just dumb deer. I decorate with lots of "dumb deer" according to him:)

Does it move? And if so, is there oil beneath Chicago?

Anonymous: Art really is very subjective. Normally I accept that and move on, but sometimes, I think I get a little annoyed when it's obvious somebody probably paid a fair amount of money for something that doesn't seem that impressive. I'm also a do-it-yourselfer, so if I were to see this somewhere and I felt like I could easily replicate it, I wouldn't be impressed.

Anonymous: No. If there happen to be motion, I might be slightly more impressed, but it is completely stagnant. I'm also probably a lot less impressed by this because where I grew up, I saw hundreds of these things all over the place.
