Worth a dozen words… give or take a dozen.

Yeah, I totally blew it. It’s been over a month. I know no one is asking, but for those who may have accidentally wondered it, I’ve been having fun with my digital camera. It’s a Canon SD200. Nothing fancy, just gets the job done. When the time is right, I’ll be upgrading to a much fancier, although still reasonably priced, digital SLR. I’m leaning towards the Nikon D50, but we’ll see. In the mean time, enjoy some questionable amateur photography by yours truly and if you find it that horrific, blame the camera and donate some money to me for the purchase of better equipment.

I feel it necessary to also point out to everyone that in the past month, I have spent approximately zero weekends at home. I know that this is a painfully bad excuse, but it’s the one I’ve chosen to use today.

Wow. The one of the sunset on the bike path is like a Van Gogh painting...

Yes, that sunset pic is one of my more successful HDR photos to date. I’m still learning how to do them properly, but so far, that’s as good as I’ve gotten it. The panoramas I took are mostly too dark, so if anyone is looking to critique that, I already know. Don’t focus on the lack of exposure, focus on how well the clouds got stitched together. I’m all about the little successes. Don’t worry, maybe one day I’ll put it all together in one good picture… but don’t get your hopes up.

beautiful work, jon. and to think i was going to berate you for staying away so long. guess you've been busy.

wow Jon, these are amazing. by the 4th pic I was ready to go quit pulling our legs with shots of paintings. love the panoramic ones.

darn you for diverting the one month plus absence with amazing photography.

Cadiz: When has my being busy ever stopped you from berating me? Thanks though :)

Syar: No leg pulling here. That’s a photo I took, myself, without any help. I suggest anyone with a somewhat controllable digital camera check out HDR photography. I’m addicted to that and panoramas right now. Some of those pictures actually consist of as many as 27 separate photos stitched together. Check out flickr and search for HDR to see just how good those can get. I have a long way to go.

damn straight, jon. more than a month is simply unforgivable. even if your photos are cool.

I'll sell you my D100. Hahaha, no, I kid. I'd sooner try to sell you my kid.

Very nice shots. I see I'll have to significantly step up my game for the current photo contest -- I mean, photo assignment on my site.

No offense but you're going to have to try a lot harder at failing if you want any money from me. If you decide to go down that path and need any tips, let me know; I can help.

Dude. You're almost as bad as me with the lengthy hiatusness. Put down the camera and slowly step away...
